Our Key Values
Teaching
At Fields Church OC, we teach for effect. True knowledge, when planted within us by the Holy Spirit, results in action (Mark 4:20). Teaching in all areas will be of sound biblical doctrine and highlight the ways that hearers can respond.
Fellowship
The true strength of Fields Church OC is the communion of the people in the name of Jesus (Ecc. 4:12, Heb. 10:24-25). We call it the Framily, short for friend-family. We will unashamedly encourage all to participate in the expressions of fellowship offered by FCOC.
Prayer
Prayer is central to everything that we do at Fields Church OC. As we seek to equip disciples to live responsively, we believe that it is initiated and sustained by prayer. The work of Jesus on the cross grants us both the avenue and the authority in prayer and so we choose to take every opportunity to pray (Eph. 6:18, 1 Tim. 2:8).
Outreach (Great Commission)
When we read the gospels of Jesus Christ, we see that Jesus equipped his disciples while they were actively engaged in outreach to the people and cities around them. His message was “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matt. 4:19). At FCOC, we believe that learning happens alongside doing.
Service (Great Commandment)
Perhaps the greatest emphasis and example that we’ve received from Jesus Christ is the commitment to service. As Fields Church OC, we will actively present regular and diverse opportunities to serve others, within our church, within our community and in the global mission field (1 Pet. 4:10).
